1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using SeleScribe, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service. These terms apply to all users of the platform, including scholars, researchers, and institutional users.
2. Description of Service
SeleScribe is an AI-powered academic writing platform that helps researchers, PhD students, and academics generate citation-compliant research articles, thesis chapters, and course materials. The platform includes features such as document generation, thesis tracking, grant finding, reference management, and the SeleScribe Academic Journal.
3. Academic Integrity
SeleScribe is designed to assist academic writing, not replace original thought. Users are responsible for ensuring their use of AI-generated content complies with their institution's academic integrity policies. SeleScribe content should be reviewed, edited, and properly attributed. We do not condone academic fraud or plagiarism.
4. User Accounts
You must create an account to use most features of SeleScribe. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
5. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of all content you create using SeleScribe. By using our service, you grant SeleScribe a limited license to process your content to provide the service. The SeleScribe platform, including its AI models, interface, and branding, is owned by Sele Tech and protected by intellectual property laws.
6. Payment and Subscriptions
Some features of SeleScribe require payment. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for journal publication is $50 USD, non-refundable once the review process begins. All payments are processed securely through Flutterwave.
7. SeleScribe Academic Journal
Submission to the SeleScribe Academic Journal constitutes agreement to our journal submission guidelines. The $50 APC is non-refundable. Acceptance is not guaranteed. Published articles are made available open-access under Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license.
8. Prohibited Uses
You may not use SeleScribe to: generate content intended to deceive or defraud; violate any applicable laws or regulations; infringe on intellectual property rights; harass or harm other users; attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems; or use the service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the platform.
9. Limitation of Liability
SeleScribe is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria, except where prohibited by law.
